Pictures from an Afternoon on the Pearl River




I took a short boat trip up the Pearl River this afternoon north of Madison, Mississippi. The landing where I put my boat in is 20 minutes from my home. The temperature was in the mid 70s with a light south breeze. I didn't see any alligators this trip but there were many types of water birds including the heron above and the large group of coots below.






I did a little fishing and caught one bass which I released. I went primarily to enjoy the boat ride and take a few pictures. The leaves on the trees were almost past peak color but still very beautiful.
